So what will I be doing in 24 years?

This past Friday I went to my father-in-laws 50th birthday party. It was held at the church he works at and it was a very cool time. About 90 people showed up and everyone was having a great time.

I bring this up because, well, I'm 26. I've got a wife, a house, and a kid on the way. 4 years ago I was in college wanting so badly to get out. I'm convinced that time moves quicker when you are out of college then before.

My father-in-law and his wife raised two incredible kids who both love God. Wow, what a legacy! If everything goes right, my first child will be 24 when I turn 50. I hope that I can raise children that love and respect God and the things that are close to God's heart could be close to theirs.

Where do you want to be when you're 50?

P.S. I also want to still be able to do rock and roll...hey, David Grohl is 42!

Hair Down To His Knees

"A church without a cause is nothing more that a country club."

This stirred me up this morning. I can't tell you how many churches and different Christian organizations I have been a part of that have been nothing more tham a country club. I hope that with everything that we do, we can be intentional about every hour that we have on this earth.

This morning was awesome. Here's what we played:

1. Come Together - The Beatles (in third service someone threw up a lighter...my heart was glad)
2. I Am Free - John Egdon (this song was awesome this morning)
3. Creation Cries - me (This was the first time I felt comfortable singing this as a worship song)

Here We Go

Hello everyone! This is my attempt at some sort of blog. I have to warn everyone that I'm not an amazing mind of this century, I'm just wanting to share some thoughts. Every Sunday I'll post the set list that we played so that people can find out the song titles and authors. I'll also be regularly sharing my ideas on relevant topics. Feel free to stop by.
